Chester’s pitch perfect choir wins festival competition

THE CITY of Chester Male Voice Choir is celebrating winning first prize in the Male Voice Choir category of the North Wales Choir Festival in Llandudno.

They beat old rivals, the Flint Male Choir into second place in the competition.

John Walsh, choir member and publicity officer, said: “The whole team has worked incredibly hard over the last six months, perfecting our performance of the three pieces that we sang in the competition.

“We sang Benedictus, The Pasture and Two Little Boys. We received some very complimentary remarks from the judges and we are delighted with the result.” He added.

Currently the choir that dates back to 1941 is looking for new members to join them to rehearse on Wednesday and Sunday evening in Hamilton Street Methodist Church in Hoole.
